About Cala nudista de la Vinyeta
La Vinyeta is one of a string of small coves known collectively as Les Roques, on the rocky stretch of the Maresme coast just south of Calella lighthouse, about 50 km north-east of Barcelona. The group includes Rocapins, La Vinyeta, Cala d'en Pere and Roca Grossa, separated by granite boulders and backed by pines, low cliffs and the N-II road and railway. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists the Les Roques coves as a traditionally nudist beach, about 740 m of mixed golden sand and big rocks in total, with calm water and high summer occupancy. Nudity is not confined to one marked cove: La Vinyeta itself is widely labelled a nudist cove on maps, while some local guides say nude bathing is most common at neighbouring Cala d'en Pere. With no signs marking a nude area, clothed and nude bathers mix. The water is clear and the rocks make it a good snorkelling spot, but waves and submerged rocks call for care. Accommodation in Calella is within walking distance.
Getting there
Walk south from Calella town or the lighthouse along the coast; the coves are signposted. Access to La Vinyeta is via a level crossing over the N-II road and railway, then a scramble over rocks, which some visitors find difficult. Calella has a Rodalies R1 station and many hotels within about 10-15 minutes' walk. Roadside parking is very limited in summer. No wheelchair access.
What visitors say
Visitors praise the clear water, clean rocks and snorkelling, and describe the coves as calmer than Calella's town beach. The main complaints are the rocky access and scarce parking. Some find the mix of nude and clothed bathers awkward, because nothing marks a nude area. Swimmers are advised to watch for waves and rocks, especially with children.
