About Cala d'en Carlos
Cala d'en Carlos is a small cove on the eastern side of the Llorell bay, about 3 km south-west of Tossa de Mar on the Costa Brava. It is about 50 m long and 20 m deep, with golden sand, and it sits below wooded slopes. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists it among Girona's beaches of traditional naturist use. FEN also notes that nudism is reportedly more common at neighbouring Cala Figueres, which has a small parking area in front of it. Unlike many nude coves on this coast, Cala d'en Carlos has a beach bar. FEN reports a chiringuito, Mar Azul, and showers, but no lifeguard. Occupancy is rated high. Expect a mix of nude and clothed bathers, especially in peak season, when campers from the Llorell area use the bay. Sea conditions are usually moderate.
Getting there
Drive south-west from Tossa de Mar towards Lloret de Mar and turn off for the Llorell bay. FEN suggests parking at the entrance to Camping Llevador, or in the small area in front of Cala Figueres. Both are a short walk from the cove. Spaces are few and fill early in July and August.

Legal context
Spanish law does not prohibit nudity on public beaches. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists Cala d'en Carlos as a cove of traditional naturist use. Because the beach bar and campsite nearby make it mixed, nudity may be less dominant than at more isolated coves (checked 2026).
Naturism at Cala d'en Carlos sits under Spain's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.
