About Cala de la Gruta
Cala de la Gruta is a tiny boulder-and-gravel cove, roughly 40 m long, on the wild Lorca coast inside the Cabo Cope y Puntas de Calnegre regional park. Bare hills rise behind it and nothing is built nearby. It sees few visitors, and the clear, usually calm water makes it a peaceful spot for a nude swim. There is no sand to speak of and no services, so water shoes, shade and supplies are worth bringing. Neighbouring Cala Junquera is Lorca's officially recognised nude beach.
Getting there
Signposted unpaved track about 4 km from the RM-D20 road (or from the A-23 near Ciscar), then a short footpath down to the cove. Park at the neighbouring beaches.
Legal context
Nudism is lawful under Spanish national law. Lorca has officially recognised only neighbouring Cala Junquera as a nudist beach (since 2018), so nudity at Gruta is a tolerated tradition rather than a designation.
Naturism at Cala de la Gruta sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
