About Cala Calderer

Cala Calderer is a small, unspoilt cove on the north coast of Menorca in Es Mercadal, reached only on foot along the Camí de Cavalls coastal path. FEN lists it as about 90 m long and unusually deep (about 80 m) for its size, with golden sand, strong surf at times and very few people. There is no building or service of any kind. The walk in keeps numbers low, and the cove is listed by FEN as one where nude bathing is customary. The north coast is exposed to the tramuntana wind, so it is calmest on days of southerly wind.

Getting there

Leave the car near Els Alocs and walk east along the Camí de Cavalls for about 3.3 km to Cala Calderer. The path is rough and hilly in places with little shade; take water and proper footwear. There is no public transport to the trailhead.

Legal context

Spain has no national law against public nudity. Menorca has no officially designated nude beaches; Cala Calderer is listed by FEN as a nudist-tradition cove (checked 2026).

Naturism at Cala Calderer sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
