About Cala Almadraba
Cala Almadrava is a small cove of about 100 m on the Rincón de Loix side of Benidorm, tucked under the cliffs at the foot of the Serra Gelada natural park, just past the high-rises of Levante beach. It is a sheltered nook of rocks with patches of sand and pebbles between them, and the cliffs keep the water calm and very clear. The rocky seabed is full of fish, so snorkelling is the main activity. The regional tourism board says plainly that it is not a naturist beach, but that nudism is commonly practised there. Local guides describe it as a shared cove where nude and clothed bathers mix, with nudists present all year. Neighbouring coves such as Cala del Tío Ximo are nearby. There are no sunbeds, umbrellas or bars, but a lifeguard is posted in summer. Because it is so close to Benidorm's hotels, it can feel busy for its size on summer afternoons.
Getting there
The path starts beside the Mirador de la Punta de l'Escaleta at the end of Rincón de Loix. A narrow, unsigned, steep trail drops down the hillside. There are no steps, so wear proper shoes and keep your hands free. Rincón de Loix is served by Benidorm's local buses. Parking in the surrounding streets is hard to find in summer. There is no access for people with reduced mobility.
What visitors say
Guides praise the clear, calm water and snorkelling, and the sense of escaping Benidorm only minutes from the hotels. They warn that the unsigned path down is steep and awkward. Accounts describe nude and clothed bathers sharing the small cove, with nudists present all year round, and ask both groups to respect each other.

Legal context
The Comunitat Valenciana tourism board (checked 2026) states that the cove is not a naturist beach but that nudism is commonly practised there spontaneously. Local press says Benidorm council does not class it as a nudist cove. Nudity is not illegal in Spain, so expect tolerance rather than designation.
Naturism at Cala Almadraba sits under Spain's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
