About Bürgersee
The Bürgerseen are three small lakes, the Oberer, Mittlerer and Unterer See, in the Talwald forest between Kirchheim unter Teck and Nürtingen at the foot of the Swabian Alb, about 40 km south-east of Stuttgart. They are a popular day-trip spot for the Stuttgart region. Swimming is permitted only in the Unterer See, the largest; the other two are reported to be protected. The bathing lake has a large sloping lawn, official grill places, a kiosk, toilets and a restaurant, and a small children's platform in the water. Nude use is informal. A 2001 nacktbaden.de report says that textile bathers are the majority at and in the water, but that if you climb the lawn to where it flattens out at the top you find only nude sunbathers. Recent seen.de comments disagree, one saying FKK is not allowed and another that it is possible here.
Getting there
The lakes are signposted 'Zu den Bürgerseen' from the Hahnweide airfield area on the Kirchheim side; free parking at Hahnweide involves a longish forest walk, and parking nearer the lake fills quickly on hot days. Paths through the Talwald also lead in from Nürtingen. The nude area reported in 2001 is at the top of the bathing lawn above the Unterer See.
What visitors say
Visitors value the quiet forest setting, grill places and kiosk, but complain about limited parking in hot weather, mixed views on water cleanliness, and frequent friction over dogs. On nudity, older reports describe a nude-only zone at the top of the lawn while the waterline stays textile; recent comments are split on whether it is tolerated.
