About Breisach-Rimsingen: Baggersee
The Rimsinger Baggersee is a large gravel-pit lake of around 50 hectares between Ober- and Niederrimsingen and Gündlingen, a few kilometres from the Rhine and the French border, with the Tuniberg rising to the east. It is a popular informal summer swimming spot, and some descriptions note a long-standing tradition of nude bathing along parts of the shore. There are no facilities or designated zones; gravel extraction continues on part of the lake, so stay clear of working areas and signed-off banks.
Getting there
From the industrial area of Niederrimsingen (Breisach am Rhein); there is a parking area off Industriestraße on the south side of the lake. No public transport to the shore.
