About Bordenauer See
The Bordenauer See is a former gravel pit of about 5 hectares in the Leine lowlands just north of Bordenau, a village of Neustadt am Rübenberge between Hannover and Neustadt. It was dug when the B6 was built and now lies largely hidden in woodland and scrub inside a landscape protection area. The local angling club manages the lake for fishing (eel, pike, perch, carp, tench and pikeperch were recorded in 2011), but an unfenced lawn on the east shore is open to bathers. The guide site seen.de states plainly that nude bathing is possible here, and a 2003 nacktbaden.de report says that at the back of the lake on the south-east shore nude bathing had become almost normal. There are no toilets, no lifeguard and no kiosk, so it suits people looking for a quiet, unserviced swim rather than a lido day. Expect anglers around the banks.
Getting there
From Hannover or Neustadt take the B6 and leave at the Dammkrug exit; a few hundred metres on, just before Bordenau, the lake is on the right. Park along the approach and walk through the trees to the east-shore lawn, then continue to the south-east corner for the area used by nude bathers. No facilities on site.

Legal context
There is no official nude designation; seen.de notes that nude bathing is possible and a 2003 report says it is near-normal on the south-east shore. The lake is an angling water in a landscape protection area with no supervision.
Naturism at Bordenauer See sits under Germany's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
