About Biggetalsperre
The Biggesee (Biggetalsperre) is the large reservoir between Olpe and Attendorn in the Sauerland, with a long, indented shoreline of wooded bays and headlands circled by a lakeside path and cycle route. There is no single nude beach: naturists use quiet spots around the lake, which reports say is almost always tolerated. The best-known area is the headland west of the Schnüttgenhof, between Olpe and Attendorn, described as a large FKK area. Another spot is at the temporary boat landing at Imminghausen, near the rebuilt Sondern bridge, where trees along the access path are marked 'FKK' and low water levels expose a wide shore. The usable shoreline shifts with the reservoir level. Pedal boats, lake cruises and the Biggeblick viewing platform are nearby for non-nude activities.
Getting there
For the Schnüttgenhof headland, park near the Schnüttgenhof and follow the cycle path along the shore to the headland. For the Imminghausen spot, park at the pre-dam basin at Bremge and follow the Biggesee circular path for about 1 km to a large information board, then take the unpaved path left through the woods to the shore; cyclists and walkers can also cross on the Biggesee boats to the temporary landing at Imminghausen. Paths are unpaved and partly through woodland.
What visitors say
Guides and user reports agree that nude bathing is easy to find at the Biggesee if you walk a little away from the busy points, with the Schnüttgenhof headland the most popular spot and marked trees guiding visitors to the Imminghausen shore. Reports note that low water levels open up wider shores at Imminghausen. Most first-hand reports are from 2000-2007, with a 2025 city guide confirming the Schnüttgenhof headland is still used.
