About Bibisee
The Bibisee is a former gravel pit of about 13 hectares, up to 6 m deep, in the Tölzer Land between Königsdorf and Geretsried, about 10 km from both Bad Tölz and Wolfratshausen. It was dug between the 1960s and 1980 and is named after the nickname of a former farmer. A privately run lido on the north shore has around 25,000 square metres of lawns, a 50 m water slide, a children's pool, sandpits, a floating bathing platform, boccia and a kiosk with beer garden; next to it is a year-round campsite with about 400 pitches. Much of the east and south shores is divided into small plots leased long-term to regulars, and one bay is a protected biotope. The naturist section is a fenced-off area on a sloping lawn, which an older report places between the tennis courts and the water slide. The water is clean and on clear days there is a view of the Alps and of gliders from the neighbouring airfield.
Getting there
The lake lies directly off the B11 between Königsdorf and Geretsried, with parking at the lido entrance. Admission is charged for the lido area (reported at about 3 EUR), which includes the lawns and the nude section. A circular path round the lake takes about an hour and is suitable for strollers. The nearest larger towns are Bad Tölz and Wolfratshausen, each about 10 km away. Dogs are not allowed in the main bathing area.
What visitors say
Visitors describe the Bibisee as a clean, family-friendly lake with clear water and an Alpine backdrop, and the nude area as worth recommending despite its sloping lawn; clean toilets are also mentioned. Families value the slide, the paddling pool and the kiosk. Reports are few and mostly older, so check current conditions with the operator.
