About Beeks Bight
Beeks Bight is a small parking area and trailhead on the western shore of Folsom Lake, inside the Granite Bay day-use area of Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, roughly 25 miles northeast of downtown Sacramento. Folsom Lake is a reservoir on the American River, so the shoreline is a mix of decomposed-granite sand, granite boulders and oak-studded slopes, and how much beach is exposed depends on the water level in a given year. The nude use linked to this place has never been at the lot. A Sacramento News & Review feature described walking about half a mile north along the shoreline from the Beeks Bight lot to the second cove, where a small, hidden sandy spot had 'Nude Beach' painted on the rocks; the writer called it Bare Cove and noted that some regular lake users had never heard of it. There is no newer reporting that nudists still use the cove, and nudebeachmap lists it as unverified with low ratings. Treat it as an occasional, informal spot where you may well be alone or among clothed hikers and boaters, not as an established nude beach. The Doton's Cove Trail starts at the same lot and runs along this part of the shore.
Getting there
Enter Folsom Lake SRA at the Granite Bay entrance (main park address 7806 Folsom-Auburn Road, Folsom) and pay the state park day-use fee (listed at about $12 per vehicle; check current rates). From the entrance kiosk follow Park Road and the Beeks Bight signs to the small parking lot, which has accessible parking and a vault toilet. From the lot, walk north along the shoreline for about half a mile to the second cove. The Doton's Cove Trail from the same lot is a compacted gravel path of about 0.5 miles each way; the shoreline itself is uneven granite and sand. Park hours are roughly 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. in summer and shorter in winter.

Frequently asked questions
Is Beeks Bight a nude beach?
Not officially. The parking lot and trailhead are ordinary state park facilities; nude use has been reported at a small cove about half a mile north along the shore, and recent confirmation is lacking.
How much does it cost to park?
You pay the Folsom Lake SRA day-use fee at the Granite Bay entrance, listed at about $12 per vehicle. The Beeks Bight lot itself is small.
Are there toilets?
Yes, there is a vault toilet and accessible parking at the Beeks Bight lot, but nothing at the cove itself.
Does the beach change through the year?
Yes. Folsom Lake is a reservoir, so the amount of exposed sand and the shape of the coves change with the water level.
