About Beach Sant Pere Pescador
Sant Pere Pescador's shoreline is part of the long, unbuilt sweep of sand in the Gulf of Roses just south of the mouth of the Fluvià, on the edge of the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà wetlands. Low dunes back the beach, there are no buildings on the shore, and large campsites sit behind it. The steady tramuntana wind makes it one of Catalonia's best-known kitesurfing and windsurfing beaches. The nude section listed by the Club Català de Naturisme is Platja del Cortal de la Vila, the central stretch of the Sant Pere Pescador shore. The club's list mixes fully nudist beaches with ones where nudity is only partial, and does not say which applies here. In practice, expect nude and clothed bathers to share the sand. The beach is fine sand that shelves gently into the water, and with several kilometres of shoreline it is easy to find space away from the camping entrances, even in August.
Getting there
From the village of Sant Pere Pescador, local roads lead about 3-4 km east to the beach, passing the campsites. Free roadside and field parking is spread along the beach access roads in summer, but there is no formal car park at the naturist stretch. Cyclists can follow the flat local lanes from the village. There is no regular public transport to the shore. The last few metres are soft sand across low dunes.
Amenities
Legal context
Public nudity is not an offence under Spanish law, and Catalan naturists list Platja del Cortal de la Vila as a nudist or partly nudist beach. The municipality has no known naturist designation or signage. The Club Català de Naturisme noted in 2022 that unsigned nudist beaches see a growing share of clothed bathers.
Naturism at Beach Sant Pere Pescador sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
