About Paklina Beach

Paklina is the naturist beach of Bol, on the south coast of the island of Brač, lying just west of the famous Zlatni Rat spit along the same stretch of shore. While Zlatni Rat draws huge crowds, windsurfers and beach bars, Paklina is a quieter strip of fine pebbles that breaks up into a series of small coves backed by pine woods and low rocky cliffs. The pines give real shade, so it is possible to spend a full day here. Listings put the main beach at roughly 50 metres, with the coves extending further west. The water is very clear and good for snorkelling, with plenty of fish around the rocks, and there are views south across the channel to Hvar. The whole beach is used for nude bathing and is listed as an FKK beach; it is popular with naturists and campers from the Bol area. Expect more people on midsummer afternoons, but it rarely feels crowded compared with Zlatni Rat. Sources disagree on facilities: some list cafés and toilets, but other visitors say there is nothing on the beach itself, so plan to use the bars at Zlatni Rat.

Getting there

From Bol harbour, follow the seafront promenade west through the pines toward Zlatni Rat (about 1.5-2 km, 20-25 minutes on foot); Paklina continues along the shore just beyond the spit. A tourist train and water taxis also run to Zlatni Rat in season. Drivers can use the paid car parks above Zlatni Rat (around 10 euros per day reported) and walk down. The final paths to the coves are short but rocky; not wheelchair accessible.

What visitors say

Visitors describe Paklina as a calm, scenic escape from the bustle of Zlatni Rat, with clear water for snorkelling, pine shade and a relaxed naturist atmosphere. It gets busier in July and August afternoons. Reports differ on facilities, with some saying there are none and others mentioning nearby cafés, so bring water. Paid parking near Zlatni Rat is considered expensive.

Legal context

In Croatia nudity in public places is an offence under public-order law outside designated naturist (FKK) areas. Paklina is widely listed as Bol's FKK beach, but we did not find a current Bol tourist board page naming it (checked 2026). Keep clothes on along the Zlatni Rat promenade.

Naturism at Paklina Beach sits under Croatia's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Walk west along the promenade to Zlatni Rat, about 20-25 minutes, and continue along the shore just past the spit.
