About Bakers Beach
Bakers Beach is a long, quiet sweep of sand on Bass Strait inside Narawntapu National Park, between Port Sorell and the mouth of the Tamar River on Tasmania's north coast. Its isolation draws the occasional skinny dipper and nude sunbather, but there is no official clothing-optional status, so walk well away from the camping area and day visitors before undressing. A national parks pass is required for entry, and wombats, wallabies and Forester kangaroos are often seen nearby.
This Australia naturist beach is a clothing-optional place in a traditionally tolerated setting. Families are welcome.
Legal context
Naturism at Bakers Beach sits under Australia's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
