About Badesee Garkoschke
The Garkoschke is a small bathing lake on the edge of the Spreewald, about 3 km from Peitz and 2 km from Turnow-Preilack in the Spree-Neiße district of Brandenburg. It formed in the 1970s when sand was dug out of an old inland dune to build the Peitz-West housing estate. The pit filled with groundwater, and birch, alder and reeds now line most of the shore, so it looks like a natural lake. There is a sandy beach area for swimming, and the remains of the dune give the surroundings a heathland feel. Brandenburg's official tourism site lists it as a natural bathing spot. A hiking listing tags the lake 'FKK', but no source we found describes where nude bathing takes place or confirms it. Visitors on walking and cycling apps simply call it a pleasant little swimming lake.
Getting there
The official address is Am Hammergraben, 03185 Peitz. The lake is a short cycle from Peitz or Turnow-Preilack, and a signposted loop walk circles it. Peitz has a railway station on the Cottbus–Guben line, about 3 km away. We found no details on parking or facilities. For local information, contact the Tourismusverband Spreewald (035433-72299).
What visitors say
The few visitor notes, mostly from cyclists, describe a small, quiet and pretty swimming lake with a sandy beach and dune scenery. None of them discuss nude bathing.
