About La Jenny

La Jenny is a naturist residential estate in Le Porge on the Atlantic coast of the Gironde, south-west France. It covers about 127 hectares of pine forest, with tree-lined chalets, children's activities and events. The estate has a large pool complex, reported at around 1,000 square metres with four basins, along with a restaurant, a bar, shops, a beauty centre and sports grounds. Sources disagree on the golf course: one guide describes a naturist golf course of more than 10 hectares, and the stored record says 18 holes. A path runs through the pines to the ocean, and the sandy beach nearby is one where naturism is permitted. Listings quote different numbers of chalets and rental units. The estate suits people who want a self-contained naturist village with its own facilities. Day-visit rules, membership requirements and current prices were not found in the sources, so check directly with the estate before travelling.

Legal context & local rules

Naturism on a private residential estate and on the nearby beach, where the sources say it is permitted, is a matter of local rules rather than a legal gap. I did not confirm the exact status of the beach stretch.

Public nudity in France is permitted exclusively in designated naturist zones (officially recognised naturist beaches and centres). Outside these zones, nudity is criminalised under French Penal Code Article 222-32 (exhibition/indecent exposure). The legal framework distinguishes between "naturism" (controlled, designated areas) and "public indecency" (general public spaces). France has 150+ member clubs offering naturist accommodations and 50 holiday centres with official status.

Aphrodite Village (Port Leucate)

Aphrodite is one of the self-contained naturist apartment residences that make up the Villages Naturistes of Port Leucate, on the Aude coast between Narbonne and Perpignan. Built in the mid-1970s, it is a large, car-free complex of low-rise apartments, studios and small villas grouped around courtyards, owned by individuals and let mostly by the week through owners and local agencies rather than run as a hotel. Units typically sleep two to four people and have a terrace; some upper-floor flats have a glimpse of the sea and views of Canigou and the Corbières hills. Shared facilities include secure gated access, free parking, two swimming pools (a lap pool open mid-June to mid-September and a relaxation pool open April to October, heated outside high summer), three tennis courts and a pétanque area, with shops, restaurants and the marina within the wider naturist village. The long naturist beach of Port Leucate is a short walk away. Nudity is the norm throughout the residence, pools and beach; the Leucate tourist office lists units here as part of the Aphrodite Village naturist residence.
