About FKK Camping Ostsee
FKK Camping Ostsee is a large commercial naturist campsite at Rosenfelder Strand on the Baltic coast of Ostholstein, run by FKK-Camping Ostsee GmbH, which describes itself as an official member of the German naturist federation (DFK). It sits directly behind a beach of about 1.5 km, between the resorts of Dahme and Heiligenhafen and just south of the island of Fehmarn. The ground covers around 30 hectares; a camping directory lists about 400 touring pitches, some 600 seasonal pitches for long-stay campers and 61 rental units, ranging from mobile homes and rental caravans to holiday houses. Facilities include a sauna, the Oase restaurant, a kiosk, a children's playground, beach volleyball, a multisport field, outdoor fitness equipment, a small book shop and bike hire. There is no swimming pool on site; the sea is the main attraction. Dogs are accepted and have their own dog beach and dog shower. Naturism is the rule on the grounds and the campsite's own beach. The season runs from late March to mid October (27 March to 18 October in the current listing).
Legal context & local rules
Nudity is lawful on the private campsite and its designated naturist beach. Germany has a long FKK tradition and no special restrictions apply here.
Public nudity in Germany is generally legal outside of sexual contexts. FKK (Freikörperkultur — Free Body Culture) is deeply embedded in German law and society. § 183 StGB (German Criminal Code) addresses "sexual self-determination" offences and requires lewd/sexual intent for prosecution, not mere nudity. German courts have consistently ruled that non-sexual public nudity does not violate § 183 or other statutes. Official FKK zones exist in lakes, rivers and designated beach areas throughout the country.
What’s here
Getting there and visiting
The campsite is at Rosenfelder Strand 2, 23749 Grube, signposted from the B501 coast road between Grube and Dahme; the nearest motorway is the A1 towards Fehmarn (exit Lensahn or Heiligenhafen). Public transport is limited: the nearest stop is about 4 km away, so a car is close to essential. Stays are booked through the campsite's online booking system for pitches or rental units, with prices varying by season and party size (no figures were published on the pages we checked in 2026). The campsite does not publish a day-visitor or single-guest policy online; contact reception (+49 4365 222, info@fkk-ostsee.de) before arriving.

A family-oriented, non-profit naturist sports club of about 440 members whose roughly 12-hectare woodland and heath ground lies on Lake Motzen at Kallinchen, just south of Berlin, with a 775 m shoreline and several small bathing spots. Day guests can use the 'Sandberg' lawn and all sports facilities, and holidaymakers find a limited number of caravan and tent pitches and a guest cabin. The club celebrated its centenary recently.
Abessinien FKK Strand List
This is the naturist section of the west beach at List, the northernmost village on Sylt, known in guidebooks and on older signs by the nickname Abessinien. The List tourist office calls it the guarded FKK west beach and numbers it beach section 19. It sits on the open North Sea coast between the beach sauna to the south and a beach kiosk to the north, below high dunes in the protected dune landscape near the Ellenbogen peninsula. The FKK stretch is split into three parts: an unguarded nude beach, a guarded nude beach with lifeguards on duty in summer from 10:30 to 17:00, and a guarded FKK dog beach. The sand is fine and pale and the beach is wide, with surf and currents typical of Sylt's west coast, so the flag system matters. Compared with the busy Kampen and Westerland beaches it feels remote and quieter, and it is mainly used by couples and families who have come specifically for nude bathing. The beach sauna next door lets visitors cool off in the sea between sessions. A Kurabgabe (guest tax) card is required to use Sylt's beaches in season.
Achern-Maiwald: Baggersee
This gravel-pit lake lies in the flat Rhine plain west of Achern, beside the large crossroads at Maiwald on the road from the A5 Achern junction towards the Rhine and the French border, in the area of Renchen. It is a quiet, unofficial bathing spot rather than a managed lido: there is no lifeguard, kiosk or facilities, and the shore offers a mix of sunny open patches and shaded spots under trees. Naturist reports describe nude bathers spread around the lake, with the most pleasant and secluded area by the gravel works. The water is described as very clean. The drawback is noise: on some days traffic from the nearby autobahn is clearly audible. Information about this lake is sparse and comes mainly from older naturist listings, so conditions, access rules and the status of the gravel works may have changed; check signage on arrival, as working gravel pits often restrict access to parts of the shore.
Achernsee
Achernsee is a nudist-friendly beach in Germany. Nudity is optional.
Adolfosee
The Adolfosee is a former gravel pit of about 30 hectares at Ratheim, part of Hückelhoven in the Heinsberg district of North Rhine-Westphalia, with the river Rur curving round its south-west side. Sand and gravel were dug here from the late 1960s until 1987, which left steep banks and few shallow areas; maximum depth is about 12 metres. A curiosity are four ruined bunkers of the wartime Westwall that stand in the water as artificial rocky islets, now used by nesting birds. Almost the entire shore has a path and is lined with willows, alders and ash, and the lake is used heavily by anglers (the local club has leased it since 1973), divers who value the clear water, and a sailing club. It is a protected landscape area next to the Obere Ruraue nature reserve, with beavers and many water birds. This is not a designated bathing lake: there is no beach, lifeguard or kiosk, and swimming may be restricted. A naturist directory notes informal nude sunbathing on the banks but complains about litter left by visitors.
Adriaweiher - FKK Strand
The Blaue Adria is a group of gravel-pit lakes about 2 km west of Altrip, south-east of Ludwigshafen in the Rhine meadows, created by widening a silted-up loop of the old Rhine. The water area is roughly 20 hectares within a 35-hectare recreation site. In front of a hotel-restaurant there is a free public sandy beach watched by DLRG lifeguards, with toilets, showers, barbecue spots and a kiosk, plus a short-stay campsite. Nude bathing is not allowed on the main beach but takes place on the side: a long sandy spit known locally as the Liebesinsel reaches far into the lake and is used for FKK, including by families. A wooded island in the middle of the lake is a known gay meeting place, mostly frequented by men. A further tree-lined peninsula, reached by walking around the beach past a no-entry sign, is also used by nude bathers, including younger people. Space on these spits is tight, so swimming is the main activity. The contrast between the textile family beach, the FKK spit and the cruising island makes this a mixed and sometimes surprising place.
