About Taylors Mistake Beach

Taylors Mistake is a sheltered surf beach in a bay east of Sumner, Christchurch, on the edge of the Port Hills. The main beach is busy with surfers and families, but quieter coves reached along the coastal track have long been used for nude sunbathing. Keep nudity to those secluded spots and be discreet near the walkway. A surf lifesaving club patrols the main beach in summer.

This New Zealand naturist beach is a clothing-optional place in a traditionally tolerated setting. Families are welcome.

Legal context
