About PODĚBRADY, Nymburk, jezero

Jezero is the natural swimming lake on the edge of the spa town of Poděbrady in the Nymburk district of Central Bohemia, a former sand pit of about 27 hectares that the town runs as a summer bathing site. It has grassy and sandy beaches with a gradual slope into the water, so it suits non-swimmers and children. The nude beach is on the eastern part of the site, separated from the other beaches by a hedge and a line of trees, so naturists and clothed bathers each have their own space. The rest of the complex is well equipped: showers, changing cabins and toilets, a drinking fountain, boat and pedal-boat hire in summer, beach volleyball and nohejbal courts, a playground, several restaurants and a campsite for tents and caravans. Water quality is tested every two weeks during the season. Outside summer the lake is quiet and used by a year-round cold-water swimming club.

Getting there

The lake lies on the edge of Poděbrady, about 2.7 km from the town centre and the castle area; Poděbrady has a railway station on the Prague-Kolín-Hradec line, from which you can walk or cycle. There is free parking directly at the lake, with space for around 150 cars. The town installed entry turnstiles operating from 15 May to 15 September; a day ticket was reported at 50 CZK in an earlier season. Paths within the site are level.

Legal context

Czech law has no ban on nudity as such; it can be fined as a misdemeanour only where it causes public offence (veřejné pohoršení), so nude bathing is tolerated at established naturist spots. At Jezero the nude area is a separated section within the town-run swimming site, as described in visitor guides; we did not find the operator's own rules for it (2026).

Naturism at PODĚBRADY, Nymburk, jezero sits under Czechia's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Researched 24 October 2026. No official source confirms naturist status, so treat it as unverified.
