About Naturistická nuda pláž Velké Dářko

Velké Dářko is the largest pond in the Vysočina highlands, a large body of water in the Žďárské vrchy hills north of Žďár nad Sázavou, with forest along much of its shore. The naturist beach is on the east shore near the village of Škrdlovice, on a mostly sandy stretch backed by woods. It is one of the best-known naturist spots in the Czech Republic, and CzechTourism's Kudy z nudy portal ranks it among the ten most popular. Nude bathing has gone on here since about the 1980s. For a period naturists were kept off this stretch and officially moved to the end of the campsite by the dam, toward a bay, but hardly anyone used that spot, and the east-shore beach came back into use. The main textile facilities are at the Velké Dářko campsite and the dam, where there is parking and the main walking junction. The nude beach itself has little more than sand, trees and water.

Getting there

Velké Dářko is north of Žďár nad Sázavou, by the village of Škrdlovice. Parking is at the campsite on the east end of the dam, which is also the main hiking junction for the area. From there, walk along the shore paths to the sandy east-shore beach by the forest. For public transport to Škrdlovice, check the IDOS planner. Entry is free. The beach is reached on natural forest and shore tracks, so it is not suited to wheelchairs.

Legal context

CzechTourism's Kudy z nudy describes the east-shore beach as a long-standing naturist beach (seen 2026). It also notes that naturists were once officially moved to a spot by the campsite, which went unused, before the east shore came back into use. We found no current municipal designation. Czech law does not ban nudity as such.

Naturism at Naturistická nuda pláž Velké Dářko sits under Czechia's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
