About Mníšek, Fojtka
Fojtka is a small reservoir on the Fojtka stream in Mníšek, in the wooded foothills of the Jizera Mountains southwest of Liberec. It was built in 1904-1906, mainly for flood control, behind a masonry dam about 11 m high and 146 m long. Recreation was part of the plan from the start, and the water is now used for swimming, fishing and picnics on grassy banks. The nude area is on the west bank, and the Jizera Mountains tourist region names it as a nudist beach in its own description of the reservoir. The lake bed is sandy and slopes gently, so the water is easy to get into. It is fed by mountain water and is known for being colder than other swimming spots around Liberec. Facilities are minimal: a small snack bar or a seasonal stand near the dam, and no permanent toilets at the water. Entry is free. The reservoir is a common stop on hiking and cycling routes in the hills around Mníšek and Fojtka.
Getting there
The reservoir is at Fojtka, Mníšek 463 31, a few kilometres from Liberec. Parking is near the dam and along the access road. Space is limited and fills up on hot summer days. The nude area is on the west bank, reached on foot along the shore. The dam is a common stop on marked hiking routes in the surrounding hills. No accessible path to the nude area is described.

Czech law has no general ban on public nudity, and nude bathing is tolerated at established spots like this one. The Jizera Mountains tourist region (Turistický region Jizerské hory) mentions the nudist beach on the west bank in its official description of the reservoir (seen 2026).
