About Lomy Lipnice
The Lipnice quarries (Lipnicke lomy) are a group of flooded former granite quarries around the small town of Lipnice nad Sazavou in the Vysocina region, below its well-known castle. Since quarrying ended, several of the pits have filled with very clear water and are used for summer swimming, set among woods and granite walls; the most popular swimming quarry is known locally as 'jednicka' (number one) and lies near a parliamentary recreation centre, about 600 m from the castle and town. CzechTourism's Kudy z nudy portal names the quarries near Lipnice among the places in Vysocina where people swim without swimwear. There is no designated or signed nude beach: this is informal nude bathing at wild swimming spots with no facilities, and clothed swimmers use the same quarries. Visitors describe the setting as beautiful and fairly quiet. Information is limited, so check conditions locally.
Getting there
Lipnice nad Sazavou is about 10 km east of Svetla nad Sazavou and 20 km northwest of Havlickuv Brod. A trip report suggests parking on the town square by the town hall and following signposted paths on foot to the quarries; the swimming quarry is around 600 m from the castle and town. There are no facilities at the water, and paths over rock and forest ground are not suitable for wheelchairs.

Legal context
No designated nude area was found; CzechTourism's Kudy z nudy portal mentions the quarries as a place to swim without swimwear (undated). In Czechia public nudity is not illegal in itself, but causing public offence is a misdemeanour, so discretion is advised where clothed bathers are present.
Naturism at Lomy Lipnice sits under Czechia's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
Researched 24 October 2026. No official source confirms naturist status, so treat it as unverified.
