About Hikuraki Bay

Hikuraki Bay is a small, remote bay on the southern coast of Banks Peninsula, between Magnet Bay and Tokoroa Bay. It borders private farmland and is reached on foot, so very few people visit, which has made it a quiet place for nude sunbathing. The bay has archaeological traces of early Māori camps, so treat the site with care. There are no facilities, and the open southern coast can be exposed to cold swells and wind.

This New Zealand naturist beach is a clothing-optional place in a traditionally tolerated setting. Families are welcome.

Legal context
