About Fuschlsee FKK-Badestrand
Fuschlsee is a 4 km long, deep and very clear lake in the Salzkammergut, about 20 km east of Salzburg, between Hof bei Salzburg at its western end and Fuschl am See at its eastern end. Much of its shore is protected nature reserve with wooded, steep banks, so bathing is concentrated at a handful of places. The Salzburg state government's map of bathing sites lists five on this lake besides the two lidos at Hof and Fuschl: Badeplatz Stöllinger, Badestrand Schlick, Badestrand Wesenauer and a dedicated FKK Badestrand, numbered 58, on the north shore. Unlike the paid lidos, the FKK beach is free to use. It is a natural lakeside spot rather than a developed lido, with no ticket office or kiosk reported, and the lake water is very clear and reaches about 22 °C in a warm summer. Because the shore is steep and protected, finding a place can take some effort, and space is limited on hot weekends. The two EU-monitored lidos have rated the water good to excellent.
Getting there
Fuschlsee is on the B158 Wolfgangsee road from Salzburg, and Postbus line 150 (Salzburg - Bad Ischl) stops at Fuschl am See and along the lake. The FKK beach is on the north shore; sources warn that access away from the lidos is awkward because of nature-reserve areas and steep slopes, so expect to walk in on the lakeside path. Paid parking exists at the lidos (around 3 euros at the Fuschlseebad); no dedicated parking for the FKK beach is reported. Not suitable for wheelchairs.

Legal context
Austria has no general ban on nudity; it is regulated by state and municipal rules and by indecency law. The Salzburg state government lists an 'FKK Badestrand' (site 58) at Fuschlsee on its official bathing-site map (2017), and regional media (2026) confirm nude bathing on the north shore is free. Stay within the FKK area; the nearby lidos are textile.
Naturism at Fuschlsee FKK-Badestrand sits under Austria's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
