About Corballis Bay Beach

Corballis is the southern end of the long sandy beach at Donabate in north County Dublin, on the coast between the Rogerstown and Malahide estuaries. The Irish Naturist Association lists this southern stretch as suitable for naturism, and the Irish Post has described it as a fine sandy beach near the village of Donabate with the naturist area about a twenty-minute walk along the sand from the main access. The beach is a public strand shared with walkers and other beachgoers, and there is no designated nude zone, so naturists keep to the quieter southern end. Donabate village, with its commuter rail station, is close by. Expect a flat walk on sand and no facilities at the naturist end.

Getting there

Leave the M1 at Junction 4 and follow signs to Donabate, then continue through the village to the beach, where there is a free public car park (separate from the Shoreline hotel). Donabate also has a commuter rail station. From the beach, walk south along the sand for about 20 minutes to reach the naturist area at the Corballis end. The route is flat sand.

Legal context

Ireland has no officially designated naturist beaches; naturism is tolerated at some, and the Irish Naturist Association advises discretion. The association says that since a 2017 change in the law, nudity is an offence only when intended to cause offence or alarm.

Naturism at Corballis Bay Beach sits under Ireland's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
