About Brøndby strand
Brøndby Strand is part of Køge Bugt Strandpark, the long artificial beach park built along the shore of Køge Bay south-west of Copenhagen. It is backed by dunes. It is one of the closest naturist spots to the capital. Clothed bathers gather around the bathing jetty. Naturists turn right at the beach and walk about 100 m past them, and the nude area then runs for roughly 200 to 300 m along the sand. The beach is sandy with dunes behind it, and the bay has a sandy bottom and shallow, calm water typical of Køge Bugt. Danish law allows nude bathing on public beaches as long as bathers are considerate, so this is customary use rather than a signed zone. Attendance varies a lot. Some afternoons bring 15 to 20 naturists, while other days the beach is nearly empty. Recent visitors describe a mostly older and largely male crowd. There are no naturist-specific facilities. The bathing jetty is by the clothed section.
Getting there
By car, turn off toward the coast at Strandporten and use the large car park there. Cross the bridge and follow the path Gyvelstien to the beach, then turn right past the bathing jetty and the clothed bathers. By train, Brøndby Strand S-train station is about 1 km from the beach, a flat walk through the residential area.
What visitors say
Comments from 2019 to 2023 paint a mixed picture. Some praise an easy-to-reach, uncrowded beach with good sandy water and room to spare. Others found it almost empty of naturists or mainly frequented by older men. A woman bathing alone in 2022 reported being stared at, and others have said that sexual activity in the dunes oversteps the line. Families and women may find it less comfortable than Copenhagen's other naturist beaches.
