About Branická louka
Branická louka is a broad grassy meadow on the right bank of the Vltava in Braník, Prague 4, on the southern stretch of the city's riverbanks. The main meadow, known as Branická pláž, is a popular picnic and sunbathing lawn beside the A2 cycle path, with a seasonal snack bar (Cactus Café) that usually opens on warm afternoons. CzechTourism's Kudy z nudy portal notes that the 'nudapláž Braník', a low-key natural nude spot used mostly by locals, lies immediately next to it, just upstream along the bank. This is not a fenced or managed nude beach like Prague's paid lidos: it is an informal stretch of riverbank grass where people sunbathe nude and slip into the river directly from the bank. Swimming in the Vltava here is not supervised and the bank is not prepared for bathers, so check depth and current before going in. The cycle path brings a steady stream of passers-by, so the area is not secluded, and on hot weekends the main meadow gets busy.
Getting there
Braník is on Prague's southern riverbank, easy to reach on foot, by bike along cycle route A2 that runs right past the meadow, or by city public transport (tram and bus routes serve Braník; check the PID planner for the nearest stop). From the main grassy beach, walk a short way upstream along the bank to the nude area. Parking in the neighbourhood is limited; cycling or public transport is the practical choice.

Legal context
Nudity in nature is not banned outright in Czechia and the Braník spot is tolerated; CzechTourism's portal mentions it, but it is not a designated or signposted nude beach. Swimming in the Vltava here is unsupervised (status checked 2026).
Naturism at Branická louka sits under Czechia's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
